Started in 1998, Shrimp Improvement Systems is located in Plantation Key, Florida, and provides genetically improved and Specific Pathogen Free (SPF) stocks of Pacific white shrimp (Penaeus vannamei) to the worldwide aquaculture industry.
SIS is first and foremost a shrimp breeding company producing genetically improved and Specific Pathogen Free Penaeus vannamei shrimp broodstock. We provide broodstock to the farming operations of our parent company in Indonesia; CPP-Group, the largest shrimp aquaculture company in the world. We also provide best-performing broodstock to external shrimp farming operations throughout Asia and the Americas.
SIS provides genetically improved and SPF postlarvae of white shrimp, Penaeus vannamei , to farmers for stocking directly into ponds. SIS is one of the few companies that can provide shrimp postlarvae year-round, and for this reason we count among our customers most of the indoor, intensive shrimp aquaculture projects in North America.
