AusAsia Fisheries Pty Ltd operates fishing long-line fishing vessels within the WTBF zone. The Australian Company which is based in Adelaide, currently operates a fleet of four vessels from the home port of Fremantle, and is planning to increase its fleet to fourteen vessels by 2012. Australia is one of the few places in the world where through good management tuna stocks have maintained satisfactory levels. Particularly the WTBF zone which offers continued high catch returns.  The company fishes Quota owned by AusAsia Tuna, and operates proven fishing Long-liners in a new commercial fishing operation in the WTBF Zone. Commencing in November 2010 with two vessels, and increasing to eighteen vessels by 2012. The target area to be fished is the outer regions of the WTBF zone in the North West,  and inclusive of the area around the Cocos and Christmas Islands. In support of the fishing operations the AusAsia Group has established shore and ship service facilities at Geraldton to handle the export of catch to Japan and China markets, as well as providing support logistics for the fishing vessels.
