This event is being achieved within the framework of the ‘Aquainnova’ project, a European support action, and is a must for all stakeholders involved in or supporting Shellfish aquaculture throughout Europe. The previous 3 workshops provided much insight into the characteristics and needs of European fish farming, for freshwater and for mariculture in the Mediterranean and Atlantic regions. The results of these workshops have made significant contributions to identifying the strategic needs required for the future development of these sectors of aquaculture. The shellfish sector faces many different challenges which require solutions and this Aquainnova workshop will serve to develop a clear Vision for Shellfish Aquaculture and examine the different issues and potential solutions to achieve this.
