The Grimsby Fish Producers' Organisation was registered under the Industrial and Provident Societies Act (1965) on 26th June 1981.
Since then, the organisation has been primarily engaged in marketing and quota management activities for a principle species, North Sea Cod. Latterly however, quota management responsibilities have been extended to eight other pressure stock species in which member vessels have a significant interest.
The organisation currently services some 65 member vessels of various sizes and class, drawn both from within and beyond its formal economic area; which extends from Redcar in Cleveland to Donna Nook in Lincolnshire.
