Once it was so that there was a skipping school in every major fishing port in Denmark, but development has meant that there is currently only offered skipper training 2 places in the country and fishing only in Skagen.
The school was originally established in 1921 at St. Clemensvej. On 10 August 1990 we took so rooms in the converted vodbinderi "IC Trawl" on Bankvej.
We are an independent institution under the Ministry of Industry with 100% State.
Our staff: a director, an inspector, a number of skipping school teachers, two assistants and a number of technical service professionals - all service employees under the social chapter (flex). Both our superintendent and inspector participates actively in class.
Our location could not be better - we are located in Skagen's bustling fishing port - just a small stones throw from the quayside (perfect). Our students are at school, but has acquired less than 50 meters from the school. Many people indeed break to slip down on the pier to get the latest news and chat with colleagues.
