Hawaii Oceanic Technology, Inc. is focused on the next generation technology for open ocean seafood farming that we call the Oceansphere™. The Oceansphere™ will make it possible to domesticate seafood production in an environmentally responsible and economically sustainable manner. The company is the first Ahi farm in the United States to receive a permit to operate in Hawaiian waters, where we will grow our own brand of Big Eye tuna, King Ahi™ from egg to market size. Our plan is to demonstrate the feasibility of our technology and as Jacques Cousteau said in 1973, “farm the ocean as we farm the land.” Hawaii Oceanic Technology, Inc. is a Delaware C corporation formed in 2006. The company is privately funded. Our lead investors include Kolohala Ventures, LLC, a Hawaii "green tech" venture fund and mTerra Ventures, LLC. Jan 2017 - Bill Spencer, CEO of the company, said in a recent letter to the state Board of Land and Natural Resources that the company’s board voted to dissolve the company effective Dec. 31 and requests that its lease with the state be cancelled.
