The CONSERVAS HOYA company was founded in 1940 by Mr. Tomas Hoya Hedilla, a tenacious and enterprising man who in those difficult years set up the first of four factories that have since the made this company and its trademaker one of the most important and well known in the sector of semi-conserve of anchovie.
Mora than 6.000 m2 of warehouse storage constructed below sea level, as well as 10.000 m2 of cold storage rooms, make CONSERVAS HOYA an unique company in its storage capacity and its excellent environmental conditions that allow an ideal and homogeneous ripening of the salting.
The most recently caught and freshest anchovies of the Bay of Biscay continue to mature in barrels for up to a minimum of seven months until the reach their characteristic aroma and flavour.
