Ardag Agricultural Cooperative Society is the largest mariculture company in Israel. Own by 5 “Kibbutzim” in south of Israel (Arrava valley) Ardag established in the Red-Sea in the mid-80’s and acting since then in the industry.
Ardag operating a hatchery in Eilat city, 2 cages farms in the Mediterranean, a Sturgeon Caviar farm on the north of Israel which distributes its products to the finest restaurants worldwide and more facilities concerning the fish industry. Ardag standing through the international HACCP protocol, working in the high-end technology to manage the company’s stock, having a large scale of well organized data from years of experience in fish growing.
Ardag Ltd., located on the northern shore of the Gulf of Aqaba, is Israel's largest and most experienced mariculture company. A cooperative business, owned and operated by five kibbutzim in the southern Arava valley, Ardag today operates three main facilities:
A Marine Hatchery, with an 8 million fry per year capacity
A Sea Cage Farm, which produces 1400 tons of fish each year
A Packing House, for deep chilling our fish and preparing them for world wide shipment.
Ardag's annual sales in 2001 were approximately $10 M. and 55 employees.
We produce several types of fish and fingerlings: the Gilt Head Sea Bream (Dorade Royale/Sparus aurata); Red Drum (Ombrina /Sciaenops ocellatus); and the European Sea Bass (Dicentrarchus labrax).
