OSI Restaurant Partners is the #2 casual-dining company in terms of revenue (behind Darden Restaurants) with nearly 1,500 locations in the US and 20 other countries. Its flagship Outback Steakhouse chain boasts more than 970 outposts offering steak, chicken, and seafood in Australian-themed surroundings.
A small number of the restaurants are franchised. Kangaroo Holdings, a group including co-founders Chris Sullivan and Bob Basham and private equity firm Bain Capital, owns the company.
The portfolio of brands consists of Outback Steakhouse units throughout the U.S., as well as Carrabba's Italian Grill, Bonefish Grill, Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine.
