ST 500 anti melanosis sulfite free treatment controls unsightly melanosis for up to 14 days on fresh shellfish as well as providing excellent anti bacterial properties which means that shrimp and prawns treated with ST 500 are delivered to the market with excellent natural colour, as well as retaining the delicate sweet natural flavours and firm texture expected of high quality seafood.
When applying ST 500 there are none of the adverse tastes, pungent odours or bleaching effects often associated with sulfite use. Traditionally, hazardous sulfite based products have been used within the shellfish processing industry as a treatment to prevent melanosis (black spot) but now that is no longer necessary.
