The Oltmann Group can look back on more than 200 funds raised and over 130 ships sold. Close collaboration with shipping and technology companies is the basis for our success. We are the exclusive distribution partner for the shipping companies Briese from Leer and Jüngerhans from Haren/Ems as well as the finance partner for the technology company SkySails which we supported in the development of towing kites for ships. We have also been a distribution partner for Franklin Templeton Investments for many years.
The Oltmann Gruppe launched the first venture capital funds together with SkySails, an innovative technology company. In doing so the Oltmann Gruppe sticks to the maritime sector: kite-like sails should supplement conventional propulsion means on freighters in order to significantly reduce heavy fuel oil consumption. As an exclusive financial partner the Oltmann Gruppe financed SkySails and assists actively the development of the company.
An investment in equity
A ship fund is an equity investment. Investors subscribe to a German limited partnership (GmbH & Co. KG) as limited partners. This fund then purchases a ship that is chartered out, in which case it is known as a one-ship partnership, or else it invests in one or more one-ship partnerships. This construction is known at the Oltmann Gruppe as a tonnage tax return fund.
