Amundsen Omega3 AS is a privately owned company from Bergen on the west coast of Norway. The company was founded in 2006 by Rune Skjoldal who is the President/CEO, and the Skjoldal family is the main shareholder. The company is run by highly skilled people from the omega-3 business, trade and brand building.
Fatty fish such as mackerel, trout, salmon, herring, sardines and tuna are high in omega-3 fatty acids. People who eat relatively large quantities of fish (rich in omega-3 fatty acids) seem to have lower rates of cardiovascular disease, as well as depression. Unfortunately, omega-3 fatty acids have become relatively scarce in many modern diets, especially among children.
