Acquario di Genova is managed by Costa Edutainment Spa, leader in Italy in the management of private and public facilities intended for recreational, cultural, educational, study and scientific research activities. The leadership of the company, established in 1997, has its roots in the original entrepreneurial spirit linked to the name of the Costa family, which began operating in the tourist cruise sector and asserted itself as one the main and quality brands in Italy and abroad.
The know-how was initially developed in this sector, mainly focused on entertainment, and was diversified later on by managing Acquario di Genova: this allowed consolidating the entrepreneurial experience, touching a variety of sectors – scientific, cultural and tourist – and making it available to the public, in all the above mentioned sectors.
Costa Edutainment manages the Acquariovillage integrated system in Genoa, while on the Italian territory it manages the Aquariums of Cattolica, Livorno and Cala Gonone and holds a 25% shareholding in Civita Group, a company operating on the territory and aimed at protecting and exploiting the Italian cultural and environmental heritage.
Costa Edutainment is currently counting over 11 million visitors a year, managed directly or through its affiliated companies.
