NORDTANG AS was founded in 1968 to exploit the rich resources of marine algae, seaweed,(or kelp) existing around the famous Lofoten Islands. The company quickly established a reputation as supplier of the best quality seaweed on the marked. Our site in an Arctic environment has a lot to do with these; clean cold oceanic waters with no industrial pollution, and an abundance of fresh seaweed, gives us a competitive edge.
Nordtang is the only seaweed producer situated above the Arctic Circle, i. E. Where the Midnight Sun offers unique light conditions during the short summer season - a host of complex compounds such as vitamins and carotenoids are synthesised - before harvesting at the most nutritious point in the growth cycle.
