Fishgate is the centrepoint of Hull’s seafood industry bringing fresh fish from the northern seas off Iceland, Faroe and Norway. Built in 2000 it is a state of the art fish auction facility with temperature control and computer tracking of the products from reception to dispatch. All fish is graded to a high level of size grade accuracy and put on display in plastic boxes of a 40kg nominal weight with each box labeled to the precise weight, species and origin.
The auction takes place at 0630 hrs each morning and buyers either attend the auction or bid on line. We can arrange immediate dispatch to locations in Western Europe.
The company maintains the high food safety standards demanded by the BRC Global Standard through EFSIS. These are audited annually and the Company monitors its own performance and quality control regularly. We have a highly skilled workforce and HACCP procedures are in place.
