It was 19 March 1948 when Mechie Drumming and his wife opened a butcher shop in Waalwijk, which as it turned out, the basis for the current supermarket organization EMTÉ.
On 2 March 1965 he opened his first store under the name EMTÉ. This name comes from his initials, the M. and the T.
It soon became clear that the supermarket in Drunen a true success and four years later, in 1969, opened a second office in EMTÉ Waalwijk. It was also here the first EMTÉ liquor store opened. Then it moved at a steady pace with the opening of including Kaatsheuvel (1973), Udenhout (1978) and Capelle (1982). The years after EMTÉ grew to 18 stores, with 3 stores in Zeeland (2004-2005), the first step outside the area of ??origin of EMTÉ formed.
