December 2018 - US firm Phibro Animal Health Corporation has acquired the assets of vaccine developer and manufacturer KoVax Ltd., headquartered in Israel, as part of its strategy to strengthen its position in fish vaccine innovation and expand its portfolio of aquaculture products.
Phibro's managers expect that the combination of research and development teams with both firms' development will become a pipeline of innovative vaccines for the aquaculture market.
Phibro's first commercial aquaculture vaccine is KoVax's "KV3" vaccine, which helps prevent Koi Herpes Virus, a highly contagious disease that can cause significant mortality in common carp farms.
