Mariner Seafoods International Sdn. Bhd. is a privately held corporation and is the marketer and distributor of all sea frozen groundfish produced by the Canadian fishing vessel, “Osprey No. 1”. This vessel is owned and operated by Osprey Marine Ltd., a privately owned company formed in 1976 by its present owner, Ron Mann. Osprey Marine Ltd. has been involved in the commercial fishing industry in British Columbia for 30 years.
Built in 1998, at 57.5 meters in length and with a gross tonnage of over 2000mt, the Osprey No. 1 is both the newest and largest groundfish fishing vessel on the West Coast of Canada. The Osprey No. 1 is fishing the quota owned by the Mann family (8.3678% of the Pacific Hake catch and approximately 4.5% of the remaining groundfish species catch on the British Columbia coast), and is the single largest producer of frozen at sea groundfish product on the West Coast of Canada.
