Algared + has as main objectives:
Promote scientific excellence in the area of ??Andalusia-Algarve transboundary cooperation in the field of Microalgae Biotechnology, through the creation of a transnational network of universities, R & D centers and technology centers and companies dedicated to research, production and exploration of microalgae biomass, enhancing its competitiveness internationally.
Stimulate the mobility of researchers and technicians between R & D centers and companies on both sides of the border.
Enhance the transfer of the know-how generated to companies to the incipient sector of microalgae biotechnology.
Collect the needs of the business sector to promote projects.
Location
This project will be developed in the trans-border area of ??the Algarve / Western Andalusia, an area intensely influenced by the Atlantic Ocean that hosts ecosystems of great richness and biodiversity that can constitute a framework of important economic activities of remarkable strategic nature, such as aquaculture and the culture, that have a high potential for innovation, and can be a source of wealth still unexplored as a source of substances of pharmacological and cosmetic interest.
