In 1993 GEA Refrigeration Technologies bought GEA Grenco, a manufacturer of refrigeration systems for the food/beverages and marine industries.
GEA Grenco N.V. designs, sells, engineers, installs and maintains refrigeration systems for a wide range of clients in the food, non-food, process, and marine industries. These systems provide optimum solutions for the cooling and operating technology problems of clients whose cooling systems are part of their primary process. GEA Grenco is the market leader in the Netherlands in this field.
GEA Grenco has around 400 employees working in its regional branches throughout the Netherlands, and at its head office in ’s Hertogenbosch. The administration and engineering departments are centralised in the head office. Contracting and services are carried out by the 8 regional branches. This allows GEA Grenco to have a local or regional presence. GEA Grenco has a horizontal organisational structure with short lines of communication. With around 20,000 employees in some 50 countries and 400 companies worldwide, GEA (Global Engineering Alliance) is one of the world's largest suppliers in process engineering and equipment and plant engineering.
