August Töpfer & Co. (GmbH & Co.) KG provides systems for food and non-food applications and offers clients a comprehensive service: import, storage, packaging and logistics. The Company has around 300 employees. Our clients include the leading European retail and discount companies and the confectionary industry. ATCO obtains its raw materials from reliable long-time cooperation partners in the countries of origin. Because the products we deliver are packaged at our own plant in Hamburg ATCO is able to check product quality on the spot and ensure that items are delivered on schedule.
Since 1964 ATCO concentrates on the worldwide import of deep frozen fish, particularly white and bottom-dwelling fish, squid and large fish, and also on the import of hides, skins and splits from Argentina. In this area we feel that a sustainable approach is very important and we support fishing that maintains existing populations.
In 2006 ATCO owned a majority share in the companies AVTS and ATUNES del Maresme SL, located in Cadiz in southern Spain. These companies soecializ in the import of large fish such as sashimi (deep frozen at -65 degrees Celsius), tuna, swordfish and various shark varieties. Our Taiwanese partners, who also own shares in the two Spanish companies, guarantee us a continual supply of high quality raw material. These fish varieties are then processed at an ultra-modern factory into fresh steaks and loins for retail, wholesale and catering sales.
