Salmonoil was born in October of 1995, based on a recycling project for the subproducts and wastes of the salmon industry in Chile. By August of 1996, activity began in Calbuco for the fabrication of fishmeal and oil, and contributing since then to the sustainability of the nation’s salmon production. Today Salmonoil also fabricates fishmeals and oils derived from the commercial fisheries for white fish.
Innovative business relations and proactive initiatives together with our raw material suppliers, in addition to our responsible actions towards the environment and labor force, distinguish Salmonoil as a true partner for the national salmon industry and efficient supplier of fishmeal and fish oils for our clients in Chile and abroad.
5/6/2010: Salmonoil and Pesquera Pacific Star SA merged their firms in an effort to face the decline in the volumes of raw material – mainly viscera and other organic matter from salmon – and to bring their production up to normal levels. With this alliance, the two companies located in the Region of Los Lagos will account for 12 per cent of the Chilean production of fish oil and fishmeal.
