The Swedish Board of Fisheries is the government authority responsible for the conservation and exploitation of Sweden's fish resources. The Board, which was set up in 1948, is subordinate to the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Consumer Affairs and today has some 360 employees stationed at 14 different places in Sweden. The head office is in Gothenburg.
