The Gulf and South Atlantic Fisheries Foundation, Inc. is a private, nonprofit research and development organization serving the commercial fishery industry since 1976.
Its purpose is to enhance the long-term viability and productivity of the southeastern U.S. commercial fishery industry through the wise use of marine resources and application of environmentally sound business practices. Foundation membership includes commercial fishermen, seafood processors, and other businesses or individuals closely associated with the industry.
The Gulf and South Atlantic Fisheries Foundation, Inc. with its reputation for delivering objective and high quality research, has gained a high level of credibility within the industry, academic institutions, government agencies, conservation groups, and the general public. Since its incorporation, the Foundation has applied over 600 research and outreach projects to the commercial harvesting and seafood industries.
