Founded in 1936 as Tórshavnar Skipasmiðja, the shipyard has grown over the years to become a major player in the faroese business community. In 2008 the company changed it´s name to MEST. MEST comprises three shipyards and a company, that designs and fabricates stainless-steel equipment for the fishing and processing industry. Also MEST has established a subsidiary, PAM Offshore Service, that employes personnel with extensive offshore related experience within certified welding, electrician maintenance as well as engineering.
