The firm Marenostro srl born in 2002 with intention to reactivate ex-Nostromo's enstablishement production process: before Calvo's family, the owners, moves it in Spain and Central America too, the only one Nostromo's enstablishemnt in Italy situated in Vibo Valentia.
The brothers Giuseppe, Giampiero and Vincenzo Ceravolo leads Marenostro srl, everybody descending from a family that operates in the fish sector since four generations and, with other company of the group, they are a smarty Group leader in the sector of the fishing, aquaculture, tunafarming and in the fresh and frozen fish business too .
The firm produces canned tuna in jar of glass and in box with others mediterranean seafood specialties.
All entire productive process is carried out in Vibo Valentia establishment site in Porto salvo Industrial zone, placed between Pizzo Calabro and Tropea, where the tuna fishing has been always an important resource of economic maintenance, testified, in the past years, with numerous tonnare.
The real plus of Marenostro consists of its processing, which is executed in its own factory situated at Porto Salvo starting from whole fish. The plant occupies an area of 34,000 m2 of which 15,000 m2 is reserved for production, which is carried out using a combination of modern machinery, a high level of knowledge and traditional artisan methods.
