Jan B. Thomsen and Laufey Jóhannsdóttir founded Danica Seafood in Januar 1993. Jan had worked with exporting fish for some time before he founded Danica with Laufey and he had seen for himself that there was a big market for exporting fish from Iceland. Danica first exported fish to the market they knew best and it was Denmark. Danica is a pioneer in exporting fresh fish with flight.
The company has thrived and grown all it’s live time. From beginning the company added new markets every year. Now Danica exports fresh fish to UK, Swiss, Germany, France, Belgium, Holland and the Scandinavian countries. Also exports Danica fish to USA.
