Bominflot started out in 1976 as a German-Russian joint venture, supplying bunkers, lubricants and spare parts to the former Soviet fleet, under contracts with Soviet shipping companies centrally-organized through the Ministry of Merchant Marine („Morflot“).
Dramatic changes in the Soviet Union in 1991 enabled Bominflot to evolve into a worldwide trading organization, with local offices strategically located in the world‘s major bunkering hubs, and with the capability to deliver wherever its expanding customer base demands.
In 2003, Bominflot decided to implement a new, modern corporate design. The new colors in the logo and the waves reflected Bominflot’s spirit of dynamics and maritime tradition.
During 2012 In connection with Mabanaft’s take-over of Bominflot, it was decided to change the company name to Bomin.
