We bring fresh St. Bernard seafood from our nets to your door!
I grew up the daughter of a commercial fisherman in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana. I have always cherished my Islenos heritage and admired the hardworking Islenos fishing communities in St. Bernard. The Islenos in Louisiana migrated from the Canary Islands between 1778-1783. Originally called La Conception, the most successful Islenos settlement in Louisiana is St. Bernard. Traditionally, the Islenos in St. Bernard have been trappers, duck hunters, and fishermen. As a descendant of a long line of Islenos fishermen and trappers, I have fond memories of my paternal grandfather building shrimp boats and sewing trawl nets and my father bringing home fresh shrimp and oysters after a hard week's work on his shrimp boat, the Marty Boy. My maternal grandfather, also of Islenos heritage, owned a shrimp dock in the Islenos community of Ycloskey, where I spent many summers fishing. When I left St. Barnard for college, I first realized the value of growing up with fresh seafood and my plan is to bring fresh St. Bernard seafood to everyone not lucky enough to live on the bayou!
