Hobas AS was established in 1999 and has primarily been engaged in product development and skill enhancement for the aquaculture industry. The company has been involved in projects in Norway, the Faero Islands, Ireland, Spain, Turkey, Oman, Thailand, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Hobas has in-depth knowledge on the biology and technology required for rearing Atlantic Salmon, Trout, Arctic charr, Atlantic cod, Atlantic halibut, European lobster, Tiger shrimp, King crab, Carps, Barramundi and Tilapia. We also have practical experience in most aquaculture systems, including earthen and concrete ponds, raceway systems, landbased recirculating aquaculture systems (RAS) and sea cages. In 2005 Hobas established a production of GRP equipment for land-based aquaculture in cooperation with A.J. Fishing (Pvt.) Ltd in Sri Lanka. We supply industrial sized aquaculture tanks and biofilters, retention tanks and various GRP equipment for landbased aquaculture systems.
