ARCTIC SALMON by Fjardalax is as close to wild Atlantic Salmon as can be. Pure and wholesome, farmed at low density - below 10kg per m3 - in pollution free waters where the Arctic currents meet the Gulf Stream. The fish has freedom to swim naturally in this swiftly flowing cold fresh water, emulating nature as closely as possible.
In raising the fish no additives such as antibiotics, chemicals, or delousing methods are used and the ECO feed diet is top grade. Sites are rested for at least one year after harvesting, thereby ensuring the necessary natural cleansing of the seabed. This also means the exclusion of any undesirable and/or irreversible environmental effects and makes it possible to significantly reduce the risk of contagious diseases. See further Certificate of Health and Origin, from MAST, Icelandic Food and Veterinary Authority..
Fjardalax is an affiliate of North Landing LLC, which is one of the largest importers, processors and distributors of fresh salmon and salmon products on the east coast of the United States. North Landing has vast experience of the domestic market for salmon, having carried operations for more than 20 years. North Landing is located in Clifton, New Jersey.
Fjardalax's generation farming model ensures the natural cleaning of the sites and at least 12 months of rest for each site thus preventing negative influences on the environment.
October 06, 2018 - Two Icelandic coastal communities have expressed dismay after licences to allow a major expansion of fish farming were suddenly revoked.
As reported by IceFish News, late last year, the Icelandic Food Administration gave the green light to the companies Fjarðarlax (owned by Arnarlax) and the Arctic Sea Farm to produce up to 17,500 tonnes of salmon in Patreksfjordur and Tálknafjörður, both in the Westfjords region.
