The National Congress of Tuna reaches its fourth edition become an essential meeting to analyze, from the hand of specialists and protagonists, the most outstanding aspects that make up this fundamental agri-food, industrial and fishing sector.
Every two years OPAGAC, as promoter of the meeting, invites important professionals and outstanding personalities to express their point of view and opinion on the Spanish tuna sector.
In this way, in 2012 the first edition started from the historical origin of the tuna fishery and its preservation to later influence the global presence of our companies and the commitment to their sustainability. On the other hand, in 2014 the II National Tuna Congress once again played a part in the commitment to sustainable fishing in the national sector, although a large part of the content was devoted to analyzing the culinary possibilities of tuna canning, without forgetting its benefits in the Health. In 2016, the third edition aimed to show the most human face of the sector through its direct involvement in social development in multiple parts of the planet, as well as highlighting the birth of new regulations designed to claim origin and sustainable guarantees and healthy of our tuna.
The current fourth edition is aimed at consolidating the values ??that provide this sector with such high quality, through the UNE 195006: 2016 "Responsible Fishing Tuna" and the "FIP" Fisheries Improvement Plan that is developing OPAGAC. So in 2018 we will have great experts who will give us their point of view on distribution, sustainability, technology and control and social field.
