Our fishing products are frozen horse mackerel for human consumption and fishmeal and fish oil for the production of animal feed.
In the case of salmon, this product is sold fresh or frozen and its main destination is the United States, where we have a subsidiary for distribution throughout the country. Other important markets are Brazil and the rest of Latin America, Europe and Asia.
We are also present in the Chilean retail market through El Golfo Comercial, a leading brand in Chile.
Through our St. Andrews affiliate we produce and sell mussels, and through Pacific Blu we sell hoki products, breaded hoki and other whitefish derivatives.
AQUACULTURE
The growing global demand for seafood and the decline in commercial fishing, position aquaculture as a viable way to continue feeding future generations. On the other hand, the coast of Chile delivers multiple advantages to develop aquaculture in an effective and beneficial way.
FISHING
Blumar is a vertically integrated company, owning all production stages from catching to the sale of products.
It operates its own fleet, which includes equipment with the latest technology in navigation, communication, monitoring and fishing systems, staffed by highly skilled crews.
100% of the fleet in operation is equipped with RSW (refrigerated seawater system) to preserve the freshness of fish.
Blumar also maintains external sources for delivery of fish through the artisan fleet, which plays an important role in our fishing operation.
PURSE SEINE FISHING
Own fleet equipped with the highest technology systems that allow the company to conduct its operations efficiently in detection, capture, conservation of fish onboard and during unloading. The main species captured are: horse mackerel, sardines, anchovies and mackerel.
PRODUCTS
The main objective of Blumar is to deliver high quality products that meet customers’ needs, ensuring their satisfaction and confirming our commitment to the brand.
Fishmeal and fish oil are used in the production of animal feed and are distributed in the local and international markets, primarily Japan, China and Korea. Frozen fish is distributed on the West Coast of Africa and also in Peru, Cuba, Brazil, Eastern Europe and others.
Salmon and trout have a significant presence in the United States and other markets such as Brazil, Russia, Canada and Japan. In the case of mussels, the main market is the European Community, although the United States, Russia and Asia are growing rapidly.
In the case of other products such as breaded hoki and hoki fillets, they are marketed primarily in Chile and exported to the United States, the European Community and Latin America.
