Falkland Islands Holdings (Public, LON:FKL) is quoted on AIM (Alternative Investment Market), incorporated in the United Kingdom, with operations in the Falkland Islands and the UK. Its business activities in the Falklands are conducted by The Falkland Islands Company (FIC), established by Royal Charter in 1852. FIC's activities include retailing, property, insurance, hotels, shipping and fishing agency services. In the UK the group operates a long established passenger ferry service across the mouth of Portsmouth harbour, Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company (PHFC). Group Structure: -Falkland Islands Company (100% share holding) Operations in the Falkland Islands date back 160 years to 1852 when the Falkland Islands Company ("the Company") was granted its Royal Charter. From its early days as a major landowner and sheep farmer, controlling almost half the land area of the Islands, the Company has steadily widened its activities to provide a broad range of essential services to the people of the Falklands. The Islands now have a population of around 3,000, with approximately 42,000 tourists visiting the Islands each year, 35,000 from cruise ships and 7,000 by air. -Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company (100% share holding) The Portsmouth Harbour Ferry Company (PHFC) has a history almost as long as that of its fellow subsidiary, The Falkland Islands Company. Incorporated in 1884 the business has provided a passenger ferry service across the mouth of Portsmouth harbour from Gosport to Portsea for well over 100 years. -Momart (100% share holding) Momart is an acknowledged authority on the handling of fine arts and antiquities and has built up an unparalleled reputation in the logistics, storage and installation of works of art. Momart's expertise with fragile, rare, valued and monumental objects has made the company one of the largest specialists world-wide. Momart's passion for quality and customer service engenders a totally unique level of care. -Falkland Oil and Gas Limited (2.4% share holding) Falkland Oil and Gas Limited (FOGL) is an AIM-listed oil and gas exploration company operating in the South and East Falkland Basins, potentially a new petroleum province in the South Atlantic. Desire Petroleum is dedicated to exploring for oil and gas in the Falkland Islands. Desire's portfolio is focussed on the North Falkland Basin. Desire has an interest in the Sea Lion development project, the quantum of which has yet to be determined and from which first oil is currently forecast to be produced in 2018.
