RIKILT - Institute of Food safety is an independent research organisation in the field of food and feed safety and health.
The institute carries out high-quality research into the detection, identification, functioning and effects of substances in animal feed and vegetable, animal and compound foodstuffs.
RIKILT advises the Dutch and foreign governments on standard violation, incidents and critical situations. RIKILT also supports governments with advice on the elaboration of standards and guidelines, and on the authorisation of new agricultural additives and foodstuffs of vegetable and animal origin.
An important part of this research concerns the Statutory Research Tasks carried out for the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality (LNV), the Ministry’s Agricultural Inspectorate (AID) and the Food and Consumer Products Safety Authority (VWA).
