Project Synopsis: Harvest Bluefin Tuna Fry from the Gulf of Mexico and grow them in an on-shore aquaculture facility. We would release half with a percentage that are not only tagged, but RFID microchipped as well. ICCAT and Japan, among other countries, can impose their own regulations to prevent these tagged and chipped fish from being sold on the market, making them virtually worthless. We will DNA test the juveniles prior to release to gage the health of the wild stock's genetic diversity. Goal: To create a genetically diverse school of Atlantic Bluefin Tuna that are internationally protected that can continue to populate the Atlantic Ocean.
