Our sablefish is outstanding for a wide variety of culinary styles and techniques, and the high fish oil content makes it a great source of omega-3 fatty acids.
Every sablefish is raised using pioneering practices honed and refined to ensure consistent quality in the ideal environment for the fish – the cold, clean waters of the North Pacific. Our exacting standards (no medication, hormones, nor colouring agents are ever used) reflect our independent approach in the entire process, from egg to plate. Only those fish that meet these standards can be considered for our Special Reserve.

2012 - Sablefish Canada Inc. has completed a substantial debt financing with Vancouver-based Fiore Capital and Vancity Credit Union.
Sablefish Canada, with hatchery operations on Saltspring Island and farm operations on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island, is the world's largest producer of farmed sablefish (also known as black cod).
After 10 years of research and development, the company was the first to successfully commercialize the production of farmed sablefish and has been providing continuous weekly shipments of fresh sablefish to white-table cloth restaurants in North America, Japan and Hong Kong for over four years.
As a result of an expansion of hatchery and farming operations and completion of recent financing, the company intends to increase its farm inventory to 700,000 fish in 2012 and reach an annual production of over one million sablefish per annum over the next five years.
