The Barbé Group is an international operating company specialized in growing, producing and distributing high quality fresh mussels. They take up a special place in the shellfish sector. Not only because they are one of the largest players within the sector (the Group is the largest producer of Dutch mussels), but mostly because of the unique working method which is based on a quality strategy.
This means that the Barbé Group is active every step of the production process. All these steps, growing, processing and distributing mussels, follow each other very closely and assure a superb quality product.
The Barbé mussel farm produces approximately 10% of the total supply of Dutch mussels contrary to the average Dutch mussel farmer who produces only around 1% of the total supply of Dutch mussels.
The Barbé Group sells fresh mussels mainly under its own brand Aquamossel, but also uses other brand names. They apply all packages available on the market: from the original jute bags to leak proof, inodorous boxes.
