Inventas AS was founded in 1997 and originates from the Norwegian University of Science in Trondheim. The business has since then grown organically from five to 65 employees in 2013.
Inventas has maintained its tight connection to NTNU and draws on the expertise available in the related R & D environments. The scheme is administered by the principles of the triple bottom line; operations to be profitable, fulfilling and meaningful.
Inventas is owned by the founders and employees. Activities are organized as corporations, with Inventas as the parent company. The parent company's management is based in Trondheim.
The operative business is in six regional subsidiaries and any affiliated companies. Last year it established its own expertise for material technical simulation and analysis, D-lab, and service design, T-lab.
