The Canadian Pacific Sardine Association ('CPSA') was formed to represent sardine permit holders to the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans ('DFO') as well as other agencies and organizations.
The BC quota is set through the PSARC process (link opens in a new window). An Integrated Fisheries Management Plan (PDF file, 787 Kb) is developed each year.
The Canadian Pacific Sardine Association has conducted projects to produce a quality product and supports an expansion of the BC fishery that ensures an equitable sharing of the resource and a premium quality product. The CPSA is committed to maximizing the benefits from the sardine fishery through a quality product.
