ARCAE was founded on July 13, 2011. by Andy Bystrom and Ingrid Rojas. Ingrid is an educational psycologist and Andy has a background in non-profit administration and natural resource management. It was founded in order to give the residents of Southern Costa Rica more resources to better combat the mounting pressures of large-scale international development initiatives that have little mind for the local community’s long term well being.
