Caviar Factory has been established in 2009 with the aim to develop innovative technologies for the intensive farming of sturgeon. Since the enforcement of CITES fishing ban of 27 species of wild sturgeon the international markets developed a major interest for the farmed Caviar.
Understanding the habitat, the available insects and other aquatic species available for feeding in the benthic layer, the hibernation depth and the temperature patterns during migration were within the area covered by our research. Our technologies are incorporated in autonomous farming units with a capacities of 1, 2 or 4 metric ton of biologic mass (of fish) and can be deployed in a scalable way.
Our objective is to promote these technologies for caviar production, sturgeon farming and to provide “Green technologies” for reproduction and repopulation of their natural habitat. We plan to publish technical and “best practice” handbook for the prospective and existing fish farmers.
