Northwest Natural Foods is wholly owned and operated by Lee Guilford and Gene Maltzeff. We are both lifelong commercial and sport fishermen. Lee has retired from the fishing industry, but Gene still fishes commercially in Bristol Bay, AK. We have a combined total of 55 seasons in Bristol Bay, and we have also fished in other Northwest waters.
Mission Statement
Northwest Natural Foods will provide nutritious and tasty seafood at a reasonable price, using Alaskan wild salmon and halibut, and quality, local, organic ingredients when available. We will use fish that come from sustainable fisheries only.
Our fishing heritage extends far into the past. Lee’s grandfather worked in a cannery on Orcas Island, WA, where Lee was born and raised. Gene’s father was a fisheries biologist on the Columbia River and included Gene as much as possible in his work for sustainable fisheries and healthy fish runs.
Our love of fish, healthy food, cooking, and a desire to provide Alaskan wild fish to American consumers has brought us together.
