Smart Farm is a Norwegian, independent company that prides itself in having unique patented solutions for growing, husbandry and harvesting of mussels that ensure good growth, reduces labour costs and improves working conditions. The system is intended for areas where the mussels are pelagic and thrive in the upper water levels. The mussel farm consists of several on-growing units, which are permanently in water. The units are adapted to each site using PE pipe for buoyancy with the mussel-collector running the length.
Our solution for offshore and open waters is based on the same principal as farming inshore.
When going offshore we reduce number of units in one mooring system and scale up the strength and anchoring.
