The company was established in 2006 after the merging of several shipping companies located in Finnmark. The establishment was due to Aker Seafoods ASA’s acquisition of West Fish Aarsæther AS, which owned four trawlers and approximately 11 cod licences in Finnmark. Finnmark Havfiske AS had in 2011 approximately NOK 243 million NOK in operating revenues and 121 employees. The company is administered by Aker Seafoods ASA.
