In 1982 the late Hsien-Chang Yuan commenced trading in the Fishing Industry in Cape Town. From Humble beginnings with only one employee, and a small leased premises, he developed Y & L Group of companies with a simple philosophy of striving for excellence through hard work and determination. Under H.C. Yuan's guidance the companies expanded to the point where they outgrew their original home and in 1991, moved to prestigious premises in Cape Town's Harbour complex.
Founded in 1996, Ocean Prince Marine Products soon became an important player in the imported exotic seafood market, specialising in such products as Calamari Tubes, Shrimps, Marinara Mix, Mussels, Squid Steaks etc.
Ocean Prince is well equipped for processing, packing and marketing both locally and overseas. Ocean Prince also trades in fish from both local and foreign fishing vessels, the fish in this case consisting mainly of Tuna, Oilfish, Sukiyama, Wahoo, Sailfish and Gastoro.
