Kowalsky is located in the city of Itajaí, state of Santa Catarina, south Brazil. Itajaí is the second biggest oceanic fish producer in Brazil, being currently responsible for the production of 35% of the fish consumed in Brazil. The location of the city is partly responsible for this great development of the fish industry in Itajaí, the region is the place where the tropical waters, rich in plankton, from the north Atlantic Ocean meet the cold waters coming from the south, thus there are many different species of fish on waters close to Itajaí.
