DEIF was established in 1933 by Erling Foss – son of well-known Danish entrepreneur, Alexander Foss – and his two partners. The company’s main activity consisted in assembling and mounting by hand basic electromagnetic measuring instruments. Focus was on precision and robustness.
Today, DEIF is owned and managed by the founder's son, Toke Foss. DEIF’s products are extremely advanced and markets now include knowledge intensive business areas such as Engine & Gen-Set Controls, Switchboard Instrumentation, Bridge Instrumentation, Renewable Energy Controls and Wind Power Technology.
