Marine Breed AS is a breeding company with the purpose of developing fish with improved genetic characteristics of profitable farming of marine species.
Marine Breed is headquartered in Sunndal, Møre og Romsdal. Today the company produces and delivers eggs from fish that are genetically processed through family-based samples. The eggs are produced on the basis of a breeding nucleus established in 2002. The basis for this breeding nucleus is cod and wild fish caught in different places along the coast. Breeding nucleus was selected for the first time in 2004 and reproduced in 2005. Other initial selection was made in 2007 and breeding nucleus was reproduced in 2008.
Marine Breed aims at all times to supply the cod industry with eggs of good quality and with the best genetic characteristics.
