Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica de Puerto Rico (AEE) is a public corporation established in 1941. Our mission is to provide electric service to customers in the most efficient, economical and reliable , without compromising the environment, health and safety. Our vision is to make all operations of the Authority competitive with similar companies worldwide.
Autoridad de Energía Eléctrica de Puerto Rico produces, transmits and distributes, most of the electricity consumed in Puerto Rico. It is one of the largest electricity utility in the United States. The Authority is governed by a Governing Board consisting of nine members, seven of these are appointed by the Governor of Puerto Rico with the consent of the Senate. Two members represent clients and customers choose their own by voting that oversees the Department of Consumer Affairs.
